Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) in Melbourne is seeking an Engineering Manager for Grid Connections and Compliance to lead a specialist team. You will ensure technical governance, standards and risk management while partnering with leaders to align resources with strategic priorities.

The role focuses on delivering reliable grid connections, compliance, and advisory leadership within a matrix organisation, contributing to a safe, secure Wholesale Electricity Market and energy transition

Qualifications

• Leadership experience with engineering or technical teams in complex environments.
• Experience building organisational capability and workforce planning.
• Expertise in governance, risk management and technical standards.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure or regulated industries

Responsabilités

• Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team of engineering professionals, fostering an inclusive culture and succession planning.
• Partner with business leaders to align resources with priorities and manage workforce planning.
• Build and maintain engineering capability to meet current and future needs.
• Oversee delivery of engineering services across the WA Division with risk management.
• Develop relationships with internal/external stakeholders to support outcomes for the Wholesale Electricity Market.
• Provide technical leadership via governance frameworks and best practice, overseeing risk management.
