Job summary

Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) in Melbourne, VIC, seeks an Engineering Manager - Congestion Modelling to lead a specialist engineering function within the WA Division. You will drive capability development, performance management, and governance, and you will partner with senior leaders to deliver priority outcomes across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering and leadership of technical teams.
Experience in workforce planning, capability development and performance management.
Strong governance, risk management and professional standards knowledge.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience in regulated energy industries and matrix environments.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and accountable culture aligned to AEMO's values.
Partner with business leaders to align priorities, balance competing demands, and ensure delivery of business outcomes across multiple workstreams.
Develop and manage workforce plans, including capability requirements, resource allocation, succession planning and budget management.
Build and sustain engineering capability by identifying skill gaps, supporting professional development, and ensuring the team is equipped to meet current and future business needs.
Oversee the delivery of engineering services, ensuring work is prioritised, resourced and executed effectively to meet organisational objectives.
Establish and maintain engineering standards, governance frameworks and best practices to ensure the quality, consistency and integrity of engineering outcomes.
Provide technical leadership and risk oversight, identifying and mitigating engineering risks while supporting informed decision-making through expert advice and assurance.
