Responsibilities

As the Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of engineers responsible for a business-critical platform that powers customer communications across multiple brands and channels, including digital, email, SMS and print. You'll balance people leadership with hands‑on technical input, partnering closely with Product and other technology leaders to set direction and drive delivery.

Your role will also include:

• Leading the design, delivery and continuous improvement of highly reliable, secure and scalable platforms and integrations.
• Driving API-first, event-driven integration between on‑prem and SaaS platforms.
• Coaching, mentoring and developing engineers, building a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
• Owning technical strategy alongside Product and senior technology stakeholders.
• Championing CI/CD, DevOps, observability and production support best practices.
• Balancing customer needs, technical priorities, regulatory compliance and delivery pace.
• Providing hands‑on technical leadership on solution design when required.

Requirements

• 6+ years' experience in software engineering, including 4-5+ years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Strong hands‑on background in .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core).
• Experience designing and building system integrations using REST APIs, events and messaging.
• Experience with distributed systems and modern architectures, including microservices, serverless and cloud-native environments.
• Strong experience with AWS and containerised workloads.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies (SQL Server, DynamoDB, Redis or similar).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, observability and production support practices.
• Proven experience leading, coaching and developing engineers.
• Strong stakeholder management and delivery skills.
• Experience with print, SMS or email communications platforms is a bonus but not essential.
