Job summary

Enterprise Management Group seeks a Cairns-based FIFO Engagement/Employment Consultant to support employment, training, and community engagement across remote regions of Queensland. The role combines Cairns office work with on-site visits to remote communities, at least two weeks per month, with travel as needed.

You will build strong relationships with participants, Elders, Traditional Owners and stakeholders, identify opportunities, and deliver culturally appropriate, community-led solutions

Qualifications

• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Blue Card.
• Willingness to travel and stay in remote communities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

FIFO Engagement/Employment Consultant – Cairns based role

We are seeking passionate, community-focused FIFO Engagement/Employment Consultants to support employment, training, and community engagement outcomes across our remote regions. This role is based in Cairns and involves working both from the Cairns office and on-site at our QLD remote regions for a minimum of two weeks each month, with additional travel as required.

This is an opportunity to build strong and meaningful relationships with participants, Elders, community leaders, employers, and key stakeholders to create sustainable pathways to training and employment.

As an Engagement/Employment Consultant, you will work collaboratively with individuals and communities to identify opportunities, overcome barriers, and deliver culturally appropriate, community-led solutions that strengthen workforce participation and build local capacity.

• Travel allowances and accommodation will be provided while working in community locations.

• Knowledge of the RAES program and employment, training, or workforce participation services.
• Experience delivering participant-focused employment, training, community development, or workforce programs.
• Ability to engage stakeholders and develop effective partnerships.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel and stay in remote communities.
• Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Blue Card.
• Experience in community engagement, employment services, or community development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital systems.
• Experience working with government, employers, training providers, and community organisations.
• Understanding of Indigenous cultural protocols and strengths-based engagement approaches.
