Job summary

MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a growing organisation to recruit a Payroll Officer / HR Administrator in Somersby. You'll manage end-to-end payroll across multiple entities while supporting recruitment, onboarding and the broader employee lifecycle.

This is a full-time, office-based role offering a varied workload and real opportunity to impact payroll and people operations, with exposure to payroll tax, superannuation and HR processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in payroll and HR administration.
• Experience managing multi-entity payroll.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including Fair Work, PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax.
• Experience with Employment Hero will be highly regarded.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business.
• A high level of discretion when handling confidential information.
• Solid Excel skills and a hands‑on, collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end payroll across multiple entities.
• Processing starters, terminations, leave, superannuation, bonuses and adjustments.
• Managing PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and workers compensation obligations.
• Completing payroll reconciliations, journals, intercompany allocations and audit requirements.
• Being the go-to person for payroll queries and supporting employees with a high level of service.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, employment contracts and pre-employment checks.
• Managing employee changes, HR records and performance review administration.
• Coordinating training, compliance and employee engagement initiatives.
• Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline payroll and HR processes.
