Job summary

people2people in North Sydney is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll for a large, multi-entity workforce using Dayforce. You will act as a senior technical resource, mentor junior officers and resolve complex payroll issues.

You will work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate, compliant processing across Awards, Enterprise Agreements, payroll tax, superannuation and STP obligations while building strong partnerships with HR and Finance.

Qualifications

• Extensive end-to-end payroll experience.
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation.
• Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Advanced Excel skills with reconciliations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Processing high-volume end-to-end payroll.
• Supporting fortnightly payroll delivery across multiple entities.
• Acting as escalation point for complex payroll queries.
• Reviewing payroll calculations, reconciliations and exception reporting.
• Interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation.
• Managing new starters, terminations, leave processing and remuneration changes.
• Supporting payroll tax, superannuation and STP obligations.
• Mentoring and providing guidance to Payroll Officers.
• Assisting with payroll projects, system enhancements and process improvements.
• Building strong relationships with HR, Finance and operational stakeholders.
