Job summary

Melba Support Services is seeking a part-time Disability Support Worker in Ringwood, Victoria. You will support people with disability to live meaningful, self-directed lives across SIL, ISA, STA and community-based supports.

You don't need prior disability experience; we value dignity, respect and person-led practice. Requirements include First Aid/CPR, WWC and NDIS Worker Screening; a Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma of Community Services is highly regarded but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma in Community Services or equivalent (highly regarded but not mandatory).
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check required.

Responsibilities

• Support people to build independence, confidence and life skills.
• Assist people to participate in community, recreational, educational and employment activities.
• Provide practical day-to-day support, including personal care and daily living tasks.
• Support health and wellbeing, including medication assistance where required.
• Build positive relationships with people supported and their networks.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records and work with the team to deliver person-led support.
