Job summary

Jarden, a leading independent investment and advisory group, seeks an analyst for its Emerging Companies Research team in Sydney. You will conduct research and build detailed financial models on ASX-listed emerging companies, shaping investment recommendations.

Ideal candidates hold a tertiary qualification in Actuarial, Finance or Accounting with 1–4 years’ equity research or related experience. Proficiency in Excel, advanced financial modelling and strong report writing are essential;

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Actuarial, Finance or Accounting.
• 1–4 years’ experience in equity research or related roles (e.g., buy‑side consulting, investment banking).
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling; strong understanding of corporate accounting.
• Experience with AI/LLM tools (Claude) and coding is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and strong report writing; ability to distill complex ideas clearly.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed financial models across a portfolio of covered companies.
• Analysis of financial statements.
• Prepare valuations and help shape investment recommendations.
• Track sector developments, competitor activity and industry data.
• Contribute to written research from results notes to in-depth pieces.
• Support meetings with company management and clients, and maintain information sources.
