Job summary

Jarden, a leading independent investment and advisory group, seeks an analyst for its Emerging Companies Research team in Sydney. You will conduct research and build detailed financial models on ASX-listed emerging companies, shaping investment recommendations.

Ideal candidates hold a tertiary qualification in Actuarial, Finance or Accounting with 1–4 years’ equity research or related experience. Proficiency in Excel, advanced financial modelling and strong report writing are essential;

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Actuarial, Finance or Accounting.
• 1–4 years’ experience in equity research or related roles (e.g., buy‑side consulting, investment banking).
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling; strong understanding of corporate accounting.
• Experience with AI/LLM tools (Claude) and coding is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and strong report writing; ability to distill complex ideas clearly.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

We’re looking for an analyst to join our Emerging Companies Research team – Conducting research and analysis on a range of ASX-listed emerging companies. With a passion for equity markets, you will possess a creative mind and use your initiative to bring curiosity and independent thinking to a highly experienced research team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain detailed financial models across a portfolio of covered companies
• Analysis of financial statements
• Prepare valuations and help shape investment recommendations
• Track sector developments, competitor activity and industry data to inform the team’s views
• Contribute to written research, from results notes to in-depth company and thematic pieces
• Support meetings with company management and clients, and help maintain the team’s information sources and databases

We are looking for candidates with:

• A strong academic foundation / relevant tertiary qualification in Actuarial, Finance or Accounting disciplines
• 1-4 years’ experience in a relevant role, such as equity research, buy-side consulting or investment banking
• Exceptional proficiency in Excel and advanced financial modelling skills coupled with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles.
• Experience using LLM/AI tools (e.g. Claude) and Coding experience will be highly regarded.
• A high degree of attention to detail and well-developed report writing skills with the ability to distil in-depth analysis in a clear and concise manner
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling the articulation of complex ideas clearly and succinctly
