Job summary

DEECA is seeking a Project Support Officer to provide practical coordination and administrative support for remediation and special project initiatives across Forest Fire Management Victoria.

In the Commercial, Logistics and Resources Branch, you will help coordinate field activities, maintain project information and support communication with contractors, land managers and community contacts to ensure assets and logistics are delivered safely and reliably.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting assurance, compliance, audit, risk or quality activities.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate multiple activities.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues to achieve shared outcomes.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement, including working under time pressure.
• Understanding of customer requirements and how work contributes to service delivery.
• Awareness of corporate services including finance, procurement, IT and HR.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Victoria.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Maintain project schedules, work orders and task trackers.
• Coordinate field-work logistics, including access, permits, materials and plant or equipment bookings.
• Maintain accurate project records, including site notes, photographs, as-built information and document control.
• Support stakeholder communications and track correspondence and agreed actions.
• Prepare progress updates covering completed work, risks and emerging issues.
• Apply safety, environmental and cultural heritage requirements and escalate hazards, incidents and non-compliance.
