Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action in Victoria is seeking a Project Support Officer to coordinate remediation and special projects for Forest Fire Management Victoria. You will support field activities, maintain records, and assist communications with contractors, land managers and communities.

The role sits in the Commercial, Logistics and Resources Branch and emphasizes safety, compliance and timely delivery of assets and logistics for emergency management operations.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting assurance, compliance, audit, risk or quality activities within a project, operational or asset-based environment.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate multiple activities.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues to achieve shared outcomes.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement, including maintaining high standards under time pressure.
• Understanding of customer requirements and how your work contributes to service delivery.
• Awareness of corporate services and commercial practices, including finance, procurement, IT and HR.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Victoria.
• Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field-work logistics, including access, permits, materials and bookings.
• Maintain project schedules, work orders and task trackers.
• Maintain accurate project records, including site notes and document control.
• Support stakeholder communications and track correspondence and actions.
• Prepare progress updates covering completed work, risks and issues.
• Apply safety, environmental and cultural heritage requirements and elevate hazards.
