Job summary

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) in Melbourne seeks an Asset Support Officer to provide day‑to‑day technical and administrative support for asset management activities across forest, fire and emergency assets. Based in Altona North, you will coordinate maintenance, maintain asset records and assist lifecycle management, working with asset managers and service providers.

Qualifications

• Asset maintenance, repair or management experience.
• Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
• Experience working collaboratively within a team.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.
• Sound business and commercial awareness.
• Current drivers licence suitable to the fleet.
• Forklift licence (LF) or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to undertake physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose, repair and maintain assigned assets.
• Maintain accurate asset and maintenance records.
• Liaise with service providers and internal stakeholders to coordinate works and resolve issues.
• Support asset planning, documentation, meeting coordination and action tracking.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with policies and standards.
• Assist with emergency management activities and surge priorities as required.
