Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health is seeking an ED Ward Clerk to join the Emergency Department on a casual basis. The role supports fast-paced patient admissions, transfers and discharges with a focus on accurate records and excellent service.

You will perform data entry, filing and general admin work, ensuring smooth patient flow and compliance with organisational policies. A professional, team-oriented approach and good MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in busy, fast-paced environments with strong customer service focus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including telephone handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality administrative and clerical support, including data entry, document management and filing.
• Process patient admissions, discharges and transfers with accuracy, supporting post-admission requirements.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting patients, visitors and staff and handling inquiries promptly.
• Maintain accurate patient information and support reporting requirements in line with policies.
• Collaborate with clinical, admissions and support teams to improve patient flow and service delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and foster a positive, team-oriented culture in the Emergency Department.
