Job summary

Redpath Australia is seeking experienced Underground Electricians to join our operations at Evolution Mining’s Lake Cowal Underground Gold Mine in New South Wales. This is a long-term project focused on reliability, safety and performance of a modern underground mining fleet and infrastructure.

You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of underground electrical systems, contributing to equipment availability and safe, productive mining operations.

Qualifications

• To be successful in this role, you will have Australian-recognised Electrical Trade Qualification, Current Electrical Licence, and experience as an underground mining electrician.
• Experience maintaining underground mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Experience with Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT or similar underground mining equipment is highly regarded.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• Ability to work effectively within a high-performing team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on mobile and fixed plant equipment.
• Install, maintain and inspect underground electrical infrastructure.
• Complete statutory inspections and testing in accordance with site requirements.
• Troubleshoot electrical, automation and control systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Identify and report equipment defects and reliability improvements.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As an Underground Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of underground electrical systems, mining equipment and infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring equipment availability and supporting safe and productive mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on mobile and fixed plant equipment
• Install, maintain and inspect underground electrical infrastructure
• Complete statutory inspections and testing in accordance with site requirements
• Troubleshoot electrical, automation and control systems
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Identify and report equipment defects and reliability improvement opportunities
• Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime
• Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures
• Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards

Qualifications

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Australian-recognised Electrical Trade Qualification
• Current Electrical Licence
• Previous experience as an underground mining electrician
• Experience maintaining underground mining equipment and infrastructure
• Experience with Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT or similar underground mining equipment highly regarded
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence
• Ability to work effectively within a high-performing team environment
• Current Australian work rights
• Ability to pass site medical and employment requirements
