Job summary

Redpath Australia is seeking experienced Underground LV Fitters to join our Lake Cowal operation. You will maintain, service and repair underground light vehicle fleets and ancillary equipment to ensure fleet availability, reliability and safety.

On a 2/2 roster, you will collaborate with operators and maintenance teams on site in New South Wales. This role supports a modern underground mining fleet and requires a trade qualification and a valid Australian driver's licence.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic is required.
• Experience in mining/construction or heavy industry is preferred.
• Experience with underground light vehicle fleets is advantageous.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance on underground light vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Complete breakdown repairs underground and on surface.
• Maintain OEM-compliant inspections and maintenance records.
• Keep accurate equipment history and defect reports.
• Identify opportunities for equipment improvement.
• Coordinate with operators and maintenance personnel.
• Ensure all work follows site safety procedures.
• Maintain high workshop housekeeping standards.

Redpath Australia is seeking experienced Underground LV Fitters to join our operations at Evolution Mining's Lake Cowal Underground Gold Mine in New South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a long-term project with a respected mining contractor while supporting the reliability and performance of a modern underground mining fleet.

About the Role

As an LV Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing underground light vehicle fleets and ancillary equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring fleet availability, reliability and safety to support underground mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on underground light vehicles and support equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Conduct breakdown repairs and troubleshooting underground and on surface
• Complete inspections and maintenance in accordance with OEM standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history
• Identify and report equipment defects and improvement opportunities
• Work closely with operators, supervisors and maintenance personnel
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures
• Maintain high housekeeping and workshop standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Australian-recognised Trade Qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent
• Previous experience maintaining light vehicles in a mining, construction or heavy industry environment
• Experience working on Toyota, Isuzu, LandCruiser and underground light vehicle fleets highly regarded
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence
• Ability to work effectively within a high-performing team environment
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Ability to pass site medical and employment requirements
