Job summary

AWX is seeking a Qualified Underground Electrician for our Mount Isa mining operation. You will perform installation, maintenance, fault finding and repairs on underground electrical systems and equipment, with a strong focus on safety and compliance in challenging underground conditions.

Key duties include HVIA switching, relay testing, and protection fault finding, while applying your knowledge of Sandvik and Epiroc drill rigs and overall underground mining safety procedures.

Qualifications

• HV switching and HVIA experience required.
• Experience with Sandvik and Epiroc underground drill rigs.
• Previous experience in underground mining environment.
• QLD Electrical Licence and Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician required.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVIA switching, relay testing and fault finding.
• Conduct underground electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis on mining equipment.
• Work with Sandvik and Epiroc drill rigs in underground settings.
• Ensure safety and compliance with site procedures.

About the role

Qualified Underground Electrician with extensive experience working in mining environments, carrying out installation, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on underground electrical systems and equipment. Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational efficiency, with the ability to work effectively in challenging underground conditions while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

What you'll need
