Job summary

IEContracting is seeking qualified electricians for mining projects, both underground and on surface. You will maintain, repair and install electrical systems across the site, including heavy equipment, PLCs, VSDs and high voltage reticulation. Rostering is on-site at remote locations with safety compliance a priority.

Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Certificate and NSW Electrical Licence required or in progress.
• HV switching qualification desirable for high voltage work.
• Mining or heavy industrial experience preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years mining experience desirable.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Current driver's licence and Australian work rights.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mining equipment.
• Install surface and underground electrical equipment including high voltage reticulation.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Ensure electrical work complies with safety standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and rectify breakdowns with minimal downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of work and parts used.

Electrician Mining Projects

About the Role

We have several positions on offer and are seeking qualified and experienced underground electricians as well as project electricians to join our surface & underground mining team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations across the site. Role is offered as an even time roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on heavy mining equipment and fixed plant infrastructure
• Installation of surface and underground electrical equipment - high voltage reticulation, 1000V, 415V and control equipment
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and electrical inspections
• Ensure all electrical work complies with mining safety standards and electrical regulations
• Troubleshoot and rectify breakdowns with minimal downtime
• Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and safety teams
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used

Skills & Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Certificate and NSW Electrical Licence
• Current HV switching qualification (desirable)
• Previous experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment (desirable)
• Minimum 1-2 years of mining or heavy industrial experience required (desirable)
• Strong knowledge of mining electrical systems, PLCs, VSDs, and control systems
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Safety-first mindset and commitment to site regulations
• Current driver's licence
• Ability to work in a rostered, remote environment
• Australian work rights required for this position
