Job summary

Pajingo Mine is seeking an Underground Electrician to join our maintenance team in a dynamic underground mining environment where safety and operational excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

On a 7 days on / 7 days off roster, you will perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and installation of underground electrical infrastructure and equipment while contributing to a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Licensed Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic.
• High voltage switching qualification.
• Experience with underground mining electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and installations on underground electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults across underground plant and infrastructure.
• Conduct breakdown response and preventative maintenance activities.
• Test and commission equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Complete maintenance documentation and associated paperwork.
• Support and supervise electrical contractors where required.
• Identify and report hazards while promoting safe work practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, and operational performance.
• Participate in root cause investigations and problem-solving activities.

Working on a family-friendly 7 days on / 7 days off roster, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and installation of underground electrical infrastructure and equipment while contributing to a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement

About the Role

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Licence.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

• Previous experience working as an Underground Maintenance Electrician.
• High Voltage Switching qualification and experience.
• Experience with Sandvik and Epiroc underground drilling equipment.
• Fault-finding experience on SCADA, HMI, PLC and telemetry systems.
• Experience with leaky feeder communication systems.
• Exposure to SAP or other maintenance management systems.
• High Risk EWP and Forklift licences.
