Electrical Project Engineer

Job summary

RSGx, a leading M&E contractor across Australia, is looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to provide engineering support and coordinate between design, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to achieve successful project outcomes. You will oversee on-site electrical works, review drawings, manage resources, and ensure safe, compliant execution.

The role involves progress reporting, QA documentation, and preparing papers for timely monthly billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong technical skills with proficiency in power, lighting, control and communications.
• Commercial experience with preparation of delays/variation claims.
• Ability to read and interpret Electrical drawings.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance off and onsite via technical understanding of electrical project work scopes.
• Liaise with Engineers, Technicians, and Engineering Managers to determine scheduling and management of resources.
• Monitor safe execution of the project.
• Provide project reporting on progress, commercial, schedule, etc.
• Perform quality checks on project work, including coordination with third party inspection if required.
• Ensure approval of correct and timely paperwork for a seamless monthly billing process.
• Ensure project schedules are current, QA documentation is reviewed and transmitted to client.
• Complete project RFI, TQ and NCRs, and maintain registers.
• Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated with register maintained.
• Scope new projects and assist with technical input, sourcing of supplier pricing, quoting of work.

About The Role

About you

• Ability to complete pre-Engineering for one or more disciplines, specify equipment, perform relevant work, organise field personnel into working teams and plan a safe execution of a project.
• Ability to read and interpret Electrical drawings.
• Good communication skills.
