Job summary

GR Production Services seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to shape engineering strategy and support capital project development across gas generation, renewables and BESS. You will drive design, delivery and commissioning of LV/HV systems, while advancing safety, reliability and asset performance across a diverse portfolio.

The role requires deep knowledge of electrical design, protection coordination and control systems, with a track record in oil and gas projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent, with RPEQ registration.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering; LV detailed design, project engineering, HV power systems, and protection coordination.
• Experience with control systems including SCADA, PLC and HMI and strong troubleshooting.
• Experience delivering work packages on Australian oil & gas projects, coordinating field personnel and contractors.
• Strong stakeholder & risk management across corporate, engineering and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead LV/HV electrical design from 1kV to 275kV across FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
• Deliver generator, multi-source changeover, wind, solar and BESS integration.
• Oversee switchboard/switchgear inspections, FAT/SAT, audits, HV switching and electrical safety.
• Act as Electrical Technical Authority; govern engineering standards, asset strategies, maintenance and reliability.
• Lead capital works, specifications, tender evaluations, fault investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain technical docs and drawings; provide reports and mentor engineers.
• Champion safety and environmental compliance and uphold company values.

About the Role

The Electrical Engineer will provide technical knowledge across electrical systems, projects and operational assets, supporting the successful transition of projects into safe, reliable and efficient operations. This role will help shape engineering strategy, support capital project development, reduce downtime and drive long-term asset reliability and performance across a diverse portfolio, including gas generation, renewables and BESS.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Design & Delivery – Lead LV/HV electrical design from 1kV to 275kV, supporting FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
• Renewable & Storage Integration – Deliver generator, multi-source changeover, wind, solar and BESS integration solutions.
• Testing & Compliance – Oversee switchboard/switchgear inspections, FAT/SAT, compliance audits, HV switching and electrical safety requirements.
• Technical & Asset Leadership – Act as Electrical Technical Authority, govern engineering standards, asset strategies, maintenance, reliability, obsolescence and MOC.
• Projects & Reliability – Lead capital works and asset improvements, including specifications, scopes, tender evaluations, fault investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Engineering Governance & Capability – Maintain technical documentation and drawings, provide technical reporting and advice, and mentor engineers and operational teams.
• Safety & Culture – Champion health, safety and environmental compliance and uphold organisational values

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent, with RPEQ registration.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role, with strong experience in LV detailed design and project engineering for mid-level roles, extending to HV power systems and protection coordination for senior position and hazardous area compliance.
• Demonstrated experience with control systems, including SCADA, PLC and HMI, together with strong troubleshooting capability.
• Proven experience delivering packages of work within Australian oil and gas projects, including coordinating field personnel and contractors.
• Strong stakeholder management and risk management skills, with the ability to work effectively across corporate, engineering and field-based teams.
