Job summary

Fremantle Ports seeks an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead technical support and design across HV/LV assets and infrastructure in WA. You will drive strategic guidance, asset integrity and investment planning while supervising a small internal team and external consultants.

You will influence long‑term performance and reliability of electrical infrastructure and champion safety across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in electrical asset design and management, ideally in port/bulk handling.
• HV switching operator certification and experience with high‑voltage works.
• Nationally accredited qualification in electrical installations design and management in hazardous areas.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical asset design, construction and maintenance, including HV protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical advice across development, delivery, integrity and design of electrical assets.
• Develop lifecycle asset management and maintenance strategies to improve performance and reliability.
• Plan and initiate electrical infrastructure investment including scopes, preliminary designs and delivery.
• Lead asset integrity inspections, investigations and engineering analysis.
• Maintain and develop technical specifications and engineering standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, codes of practice and Australian Standards.
• Lead, motivate and develop electrical engineering capability, managing consultants and contractors.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on electrical engineering matters.
• Champion safety and proactively identify risk to drive outcomes.
