Job summary

BHP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and governance across WAIO Infrastructure & Services. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability and Projects to support safety, compliance, reliability and performance of electrical assets and systems.

The role covers HV and LV infrastructure, protection, asset integrity and problem-solving, with emphasis on sound judgement and practical, evidence-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to prioritise safety, compliance, reliability and lifecycle costs.
• Experience balancing multiple stakeholder needs in multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, legislation and electrical engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior electrical engineering advice and technical support to Operations, Maintenance and projects.
• Govern HV/LV systems including substations, transformers and protection systems.
• Lead or participate in investigations, design reviews and risk assessments.
• Develop technical deliverables: specifications, scopes, calculations, drawings and commissioning plans.
• Ensure solutions meet legislation, standards and WAIO requirements.
• Support asset health assessments and prioritise safety and reliability improvements.
• Contribute to brownfield modifications and network augmentations.
• Provide guidance and peer review to engineers and technical staff.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants and vendors.
