Job summary

PE Consulting Engineers on the Gold Coast is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support delivery of high-quality electrical designs from concept to construction. You will work with Senior Engineers, clients and project teams to meet requirements, standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities include determining equipment layouts, performing load calculations, developing drawings in AutoCAD, preparing design documentation, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Class C Driver's license.
• At least 2 years of experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, communications, and earthing.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through construction and commissioning.
• Experience liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants.
• Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards and industry codes.
• Proficiency in design and documentation software such as AutoCAD & MS Office.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and system sizing.

Job description

The Engineer supports the delivery of high-quality engineering designs in accordance with project requirements, standards, and deadlines. Working closely with Senior Engineers, clients, project design teams and managers, this role contributes to projects from initial concept through to completion.

Key responsibilities

Determine the type and arrangement of circuits, networks, transformers, circuit-breakers, transmission lines and other equipment

Perform basic engineering calculations, including load assessments, cable sizing, and equipment selection

Use design software to perform detailed calculations, plan, design and develop construction and installation standards, technical drawings, schematics, and layouts

Design and develop electrical drawings ensuring compliance with industry standards, project requirements, codes, regulations and project specifications

Preparation of technical documentation, reports, and design deliverables

Preparation and submission of applications, approvals, and compliance documentation

Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to support project delivery

Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards

Conduct quality and compliance checks of other designers and engineers work in accordance with company work processes

Assist in the training, mentoring, and development of team members

About you

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Class C Driver's license

At least 2 years of experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects

Experience in designing systems such as power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, communications, and earthing

Experience with project delivery - concept through to construction and commissioning

Experience preparing design documentation, reports, and specifications

Experience liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants
