Job summary

Connexus offers an Electrical Design Engineer role based in North Sydney, focusing on leading power, lighting and UPS systems for complex built environment projects. You will work within a fully integrated Built Environment team, collaborating with architects, structural, mechanical, fire, hydraulics and digital engineers.

You’ll utilise Revit, DIALux/AGI32 and Bluebeam to deliver energy-efficient designs, achieve NCC compliance and maintain high-quality outputs while guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years' consulting or design experience in built environment.
• Willingness to lead electrical design packages across feasibility to detail stages.
• Able to review others' work and coordinate in a BIM environment.
• Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept through construction documentation meeting client outcomes and NCC requirements.
• Manage own time to meet cost, quality and programme targets.
• Carry out power distribution, lighting, earthing, ELV and emergency calculations.
• Deliver coordinated BIM and calculation packages reducing clashes across teams.
• Guide junior engineers and designers to improve technical quality, safety and sustainability.
• Resolve design and site issues with clients, contractors and authorities to keep construction on track.
• Apply digital tools and low-carbon thinking to make electrical systems efficient and auditable.
• Strive to improve technical excellence and innovation within Electrical Engineering.

Electrical Design Engineer - To $120 + super + no minimum days in the office

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll lead the design of power, lighting and UPS systems on complex projects across the built environment.

Working as part of a fully integrated Built Environment team you'll interact with architects, structural, mechanical, fire, hydraulics and digital engineers. You'll use your expertise and digital tools such as Revit, DIALux or AGI32 and Bluebeam to design complex, energy efficient buildings that matter.

• Lead electrical design from concept through construction documentation so projects meet client outcomes, Australian Standards and NCC requirements,.
• Manage your own time to ensure projects meet agreed cost, quality and programme targets.
• Carrying out power distribution, lighting, earthing, ELV and emergency systems calculations to.
• Deliver coordinated BIM and calculation packages that reduce clashes and rework across multidisciplinary teams.
• Guide junior engineers and designers so technical quality, safety and sustainability improve on every assignment.
• Resolve design and site issues with clients, contractors and authorities so construction stays on track and variations are controlled.
• Apply digital tools and low-carbon thinking so electrical systems are efficient, future-ready and auditable.
• Seek to improve the level of technical excellence and innovation within Electrical Engineering.

Essential Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering and at least 4 years' consulting or design experience within the built environment.
• Australian citizen or Permanent resident of Australia.
• Ability to lead not just electrical design packages, or projects from feasibility, concept and detail design stages.
• Able to review others' work and coordinate in a BIM environment.
• Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
• Able to balance technical excellence with commercial reality.
• Ideally working towards Chartered status or a clear path to CPEng and NER.
