Job summary

Care Activities Inc. in Salt Ash is seeking two OOSH Educators for a permanent part-time role (20-25 hours per week) with hours negotiated with successful candidates and one casual position also available.

You will support the planning and delivery of engaging programs for primary‑aged children in a welcoming and inclusive environment, supervise wellbeing and learning, and help maintain a safe centre. We offer award-based pay under the Children’s Services Award 2010, ongoing training, and

• Experience with children aged 5–12 is required.
• Ability to work in a busy team environment and adapt to change.
• Current WWCC and relevant training on safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Assist with setting up and packing away, ensuring safety.

Due to a recent licence increase, we’re expanding our team!

Care Activities Inc. is a not‑for‑profit organisation providing high‑quality Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) and Vacation Care across the Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens regions. We work closely with our sister organisation, Community Activities Lake Macquarie (CALM), to support children, young people, and families to thrive.

We are currently seeking two enthusiastic, child‑focused Educators to join our vibrant team at Salt Ash. We are offering a permanent part‑time contract 20-25 hours per week with days/hours negotiated with successful candidate and one casual position.

About the Role

As an OOSH Educator, you will support the planning and delivery of fun, engaging, and safe programs for primary‑aged children in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

You will:

• Assist with the implementation of daily programs and routines
• Supervise and engage with children to support their wellbeing, learning, and play
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and culturally respectful environment
• Build warm, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Follow organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with setting up, packing away, and ensuring the centre is always safe and welcoming

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Experience working with children aged 5–12
• A passion for inclusive, strengths‑based practice
• Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a busy environment
• Great communication and relationship‑building skills
• Current Working With Children Check
• Current First Aid, Child Protection, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable:

• Certificate III or IV in School Age Education & Care (or working towards)
• Knowledge of OOSH, children’s services, or community services
• Driver’s licence
