Job summary

Wallsend South Oosh is seeking energetic and passionate educators to join our team across our services in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle area. The permanent part-time positions offer 20–27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with responsibilities across Before School, After School and Vacation Care.

You will plan quality programs, ensure compliance with regulations, and foster positive relationships with children, families and schools while maintaining a safe, clean environment and delivering

Qualifications

• Permanent Part Time role in OOSH settings starting asap.
• Cert III in Children’s Services, Diploma in OOSH or Cert IV in OOSH, or working towards.
• Current paid Working with Children Check is required.
• First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning a quality program based on children's interests and deliver it.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
• Work within National Quality Standards and My Time Our Place framework.
• Provide a positive, safe, and professional environment for children.
• Collaborate with staff, families, schools and the community.
• Prepare food for children and maintain centre cleanliness.
• Deliver active supervision and move between services as required.

OOSH Educators Permanent Part Time Positions Available

We are a well-known local Provider with 5 Services in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle Areas. We pride ourselves on delivering quality and affordable childcare for over 15 years with the emphasis on both educator and family’s interests at the centre of our heart & focus.

We provide safe and fun spaces for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 to learn, play and participate in social and recreational activities. As well as interacting and forming positive relationships within their environment.

All our services provide Before School, After School and Vacation Care as well as our 2 services run from their school hall and large COLA/playground areas all Meeting the National Quality Standards.

We are looking for energetic, passionate, confident, assertive, loyal, initiative and fun educators to join our already team of professional and friendly educators.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an OOSH Educator, you will be required to perform the following:

Assist in planning a quality program based on children's current interests and interact with children whilst delivering the program.

Ensuring compliance with regulations, service policies and procedures.

Work within the requirements of the National Quality Standards and My Time, Our Place Framework including daily program evaluations.

Provide a positive, safe and professional environment.

Work collaboratively with all staff, children, families, schools and community.

Developing relationships with families that use the centre.

Preparation of food for the children

Maintaining cleanliness of the centre

Deliver active supervision.

Be adaptable to move between all services or committed to one service pending on position roles and responsibilities.

Reliable own transport;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

An understanding of the developmental areas for children;

Willingness to implement and contribute to the Company's Values, Vision and Mission Statement.

Strong work ethic

Formal Educations and Requirements:

Permanent Part Time- Cert 111 in Children’s Services, Diploma in OOSH, Cert IV in OOSH OR working towards or willingness to complete.

Current paid Working with Children Check.

Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate or willing to obtain;

Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children or willingness to learn.

Preferred

Experience working with children aged between 4 – 13 years.

Intermediate computer and technology skills.
