Job summary

YMCA Queensland is seeking an Educational Leader for Currimundi Outside School Hours Care, a permanent part-time role. You will guide a team of educators, shape engaging programs, and ensure a safe, inclusive environment for children outside school hours.

The role emphasizes play-based learning, collaboration with families and schools, and ongoing professional development within a values-driven not-for-profit setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent is desirable.
• Minimum three years’ experience in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Knowledge of the approved learning framework.
• Ability to coach and mentor others.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of child development, attachment, learning.
• Understanding of evidence-based teaching and learning practices.
• Knowledge of leadership theory and diverse leadership styles.
• Critical thinking and challenging conventional practice.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Paid Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and delivery of engaging educational programs.
• Coach and mentor educators to reach their full potential.
• Champion child-centred, play-based learning in line with frameworks.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture.
• Model best-practice teaching and reflective practice.
• Collaborate with families, schools and partners to support each child.
• Ensure programs meet compliance and high care standards.
