Job summary

YMCA Queensland is seeking an Educational Leader to shape engaging programs for Outside School Hours Care in Ashgrove. You will guide a team of educators, foster creativity, and ensure every child feels safe, supported and included within a caring, community-driven environment.

In this part-time permanent role, you’ll champion play-based learning, align with the latest frameworks, and collaborate with families and schools to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (desirable).
• Minimum three years’ experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of child development, attachment and learning concepts.
• Understanding of evidence-based best practice in teaching and learning.
• Understanding of leadership theory and leadership styles.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Paid Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Drive the creation, delivery and ongoing improvement of inspiring educational programs for children outside school hours.
• Guide, motivate and empower educators to reach their full potential.
• Champion child-centred, play-based learning aligned with official frameworks.
• Build a positive, inclusive and collaborative team culture.
• Lead by example and promote reflective practice and best teaching approaches.
• Collaborate with families, schools and community partners to support each child.
• Ensure programs meet compliance and high standards of care.
