Job summary

Department of Education Victoria in Hamilton, VIC is recruiting an Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist to join the Student Support Services team. The role supports students with functional, sensory, motor and communication needs within schools across the Wimmera South West area.

Travel to Hamilton and Portland areas is required to collaborate with schools, families and professionals. You will develop individualised programs and monitor outcomes, improving participation and learning

Qualifications

• Graduate or post-graduate qualification in occupational therapy or speech pathology.
• Registration with relevant professional board (AHPRA).
• Valid Working with Children Check and driving licence.
• Eligibility for membership of professional bodies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualised programs with teachers, parents and colleagues.
• Document and report student participation and progress, suggest future programming.
• Assess students in communication, speech, language, and social/behavioural needs.
• Attend meetings and manage therapy resources.
• Provide information about equipment and barriers within schools.
• Assess regulation, fine motor, self-care and social interactions.
