Durst Industries Pty Ltd in Sydney's Castle Hill is expanding its ecommerce capability. We’re seeking an Ecommerce & Digital Marketing Specialist to own our online store and growth marketing for both consumer and industrial customers.
You’ll manage the Shopify store day-to-day, run paid campaigns, own SEO, email and SMS campaigns, and help shape the brand in a direct-to-consumer environment from a small, hands-on team. On-site role with real ownership and scope to impact revenue.
Durst Industries Pty Ltd – Castle Hill NSW
Durst Industries has been designing and building electrical power equipment in Sydney since 1918 — for the industries that can't afford to stop: mining, defence, emergency services, aviation and workshops across Australia. Today, our jump starters, battery chargers and portable power systems are trusted by everyone from 4WD adventurers and tradies to fleet operators and mine sites.
We've recently made a big shift: we now sell direct to customers through our own online store. It's an exciting time to join us — we're building our ecommerce capability from the ground up, and this role sits right at the centre of it.
This is a hands-on, all-rounder role for someone who loves ecommerce and digital marketing and wants real ownership. As part of a small, close-knit team in Sydney, you'll run our online store day to day and drive the marketing that grows our sales and brand exposure — across both our consumer (4WD, camping, tradie) and commercial/industrial customer segments.
You won't be a small cog in a big machine. Your ideas, campaigns and results will be directly visible in the business.
Manage and optimise our Shopify store — product listings, pricing, promotions, merchandising and new product launches
Improve conversion rate, average order value and customer experience across the site
Manage inventory data, product content, imagery and categorisation
Plan and run paid campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and other channels that make sense for our audiences
Own SEO — on-page, technical and content — to grow organic traffic
Build and run email marketing (flows and campaigns) and SMS where relevant
Manage and grow our social media presence with content that resonates with tradies, 4WDers and industrial buyers
Handle incoming phone and online sales enquiries — helping customers choose the right product is a genuine part of this role
Analyse sales and traffic data, report on performance, and back your ideas with numbers
Identify new growth opportunities: new channels, marketplaces (e.g. eBay/Amazon), bundles, promotions and partnerships
2–5+ years in ecommerce, digital marketing or a similar hands‑on commercial role
Solid experience running a Shopify (or similar) online store — you know your way around apps, themes and analytics
Confident running paid ads and email campaigns, with the results to show for it
Good working knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
Strong writing skills — you can write product copy that sells and ad copy that converts
Comfortable picking up the phone and talking to customers (B2B and consumer)
Happy working on-site in a small team, rolling up your sleeves and getting things done
An interest in 4WDing, camping, automotive or trade tools is a genuine plus — you'll be marketing products you can actually picture being used
Real ownership: own our ecommerce function as it grows — your work directly shapes our success
A century-old Australian manufacturer going direct‑to‑consumer: rare, genuinely interesting products (Australian‑made industrial gear, not dropshipping)
Small team, no red tape: decisions get made fast, and your ideas get implemented
On‑site role in Sydney with free parking and a friendly, down‑to‑earth team
Staff discounts across the full product range
Competitive salary negotiated based on your experience, plus super
