Job summary

The Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD), Support Services for Children Branch, is filling several Child and Family Practitioner roles at ACT Child and Family Centres in Tuggeranong, Gungahlin, or West Belconnen.

Practitioners deliver early intervention and prevention services for children aged 0 to 8 and their families, run parenting education groups, supported playgroups, and specialist clinical services.

Qualifications

• Graduates with Social Work or Psychology and eligibility for membership in relevant board.
• Experience working with children and families preferred (12 months).
• Current driver’s licence and WWVP background check required.
• Cultural awareness and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver early intervention and prevention services for children aged 0–8 and their families.
• Provide parenting education groups, supported playgroups and specialist clinical services.
• Collaborate with multicultural communities and Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander programs.
• Contribute to integrated service delivery through Child and Family Centres.
