Job summary

APA Group in Mount Isa invites applicants to join as an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician Apprentice. This 4-6 year program blends on-the-job training with formal studies, helping you gain a nationally recognised Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, and Instrumentation.

You will work alongside experienced technicians on critical energy infrastructure, with fully funded training, tools provided, travel costs covered, and mentoring to support your long-term career with APA.

Qualifications

• 4-6 year apprenticeship combines hands-on experience with formal training.
• No prior trade experience required; all backgrounds encouraged to apply.
• Eligibility to work in Australia is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planned and reactive maintenance, inspections and repairs across the Mount Isa region.
• Learn to service, maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Support electrical and instrumentation work under the guidance of qualified team members.
• Monitor equipment performance through routine inspections and recordings.
• Contribute to preventative and corrective maintenance activities and documentation.
