Job summary

APA Group seeks a Mechanical Technician Apprentice (fitter) in Mount Isa region for a four-year, full-time program. You will learn on-site while gaining a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (fitting).

Fully funded training, all tools provided, and travel expenses covered support your development in essential energy infrastructure. You'll work with experienced tradespeople on maintenance, servicing, upgrades, and compliance across our regional assets, with

Four-year apprenticeship to Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (fitting).
Fully funded training with TAFE fees covered and tools provided.
Eligible candidates from Mount Isa region encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Assist with planned and reactive maintenance across the region.
Service, maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of equipment.
Support mechanical work under supervision by qualified team members.
Monitor the performance and operation of critical assets through routine inspections.
Assist with equipment upgrades, replacements and improvement projects.
Attend TAFE and complete apprenticeship coursework.
Organise tools, parts and operational documentation for jobs.
