E&I Shutdown Lead — Refinery, High-Impact Safety

Job summary

Wood is seeking experienced E&I Supervisors for a mid-year FCCU shutdown at the Ampol Lytton Refinery, Brisbane. The assignment starts early May for about 12–14 weeks, with you providing leadership and safely executing planned shutdown activities under the guidance of T&I Leads and Superintendents.

Local applicants are preferred, but those outside Southeast Queensland with the right skills may be considered.

Qualifications

• Recognised Trade certificate and QLD Electrical trade licence is essential.
• Dual trade qualification in electrical/instrumentation required (Cert III electrotechnology & Cert III in Instrument and Control); Cert IV in Electrical-Instrumentation considered.
• Cert IV in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) required with expiry after mid-August 2026.
• Current LVR/CPR with expiry after mid-August 2026.
• Working at Heights, Confined Space and High-risk EWP licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Foster and maintain a collaborative, high-performing culture of safety and lead client teams to meet contract objectives.
• Understand and ensure compliance with the client's Permit to Work System.
• Ensure SWMS are developed, reviewed and understood with proper paperwork.
• Ensure timely resolution of safety issues and communicate with teams on safety matters.
• Keep updated with Wood HSE communications and life-saving rules.
• Deliver daily pre-start to the E&I team.
• Report all incidents using the Loss Prevention System (LPS).
• Lead and participate in investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain zero tolerance for unsafe acts and support just culture.
• Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within control areas.
