The Maid & Magpie in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to lead day-to-day venue operations and uphold service standards across all areas.

This full-time salaried role requires strong leadership, compliance with RSA, gaming, WHS, and a track record of managing busy hospitality teams. Availability across evenings, weekends and public holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Assistant Venue Manager or similar hospitality leadership role.
• Experience working within a busy pub, hotel, gaming or hospitality environment.
• Strong understanding of venue operations, service standards and compliance requirements.
• Current RSG required
• Current RSA required
• ARCG highly regarded
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Confident managing teams and operational challenges in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, approachable and solutions-focused
• Strong understanding of responsible service and regulatory requirements
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the venue during allocated shifts
• Lead, support and motivate team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences
• Ensure high standards of service, presentation and venue operations are maintained
• Monitor gaming, food and beverage and general venue operations
• Manage customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with RSA, gaming, licensing, WHS and company requirements
• Conduct team briefings and communicate operational priorities effectively
• Assist with rostering, labour management and operational planning
• Monitor venue presentation, cleanliness and maintenance standards
• Support stock control, cash handling and other operational procedures
• Work closely with the Venue Manager and leadership team to achieve venue objectives
• Contribute to a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to join the team at The Maid & Magpie.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the venue and ensuring consistently high standards across service, team performance, compliance and guest experience.

Working closely with the Venue Manager and wider leadership team, you will lead by example on the floor, support and develop team members, respond to operational challenges and help ensure the venue operates smoothly across all areas of the business.

This is a full-time salaried position, with an immediate start preferred.

The role requires full availability across all hours of business operation, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
