Job summary

The Craigie Tavern in Craigie, WA is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join our management team. You will oversee day-to-day operations across the Bistro, Lounge Bar, Sports Bar and Bottle Shop, ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to licensing requirements.

You will lead, motivate and mentor staff, manage shifts, and maintain high service standards in a fast-paced environment. WA Approved Manager card, RSA, food handling, and a current driver’s licence are required; police

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of management experience in hospitality, with bar/restaurant background.
• Ability to lead, mentor staff and train team members.
• Strong communication, presentation, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of liquor licensing, food service requirements, and RSA compliance.
• Hold WA Approved Managers card and Australian driver’s licence; willing to obtain police clearance and TAB certification.

Job description

The Craigie Tavern is a family owned and operated local Tavern, located in the Northern suburb of Craigie, Western Australia. The Tavern features a Bistro, Lounge Bar, Sports Bar with TAB facilities and a Bottle Shop.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Duty Manager with strong attention to detail and a passion for customer service, to join our management team, and assist with the day-to-day operations across all areas of the establishment.

This is an ideal position for a suitably experienced hospitality manager, who will bring a positive attitude, is team orientated, but can also work autonomously and demonstrates strong leadership skills.

About you..

Have at least 1 year management experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, particularly with bar and restaurant experience.

Be able to assist the Management team with all aspects of operations and lead by example with a hands‑on approach.

Ability to liaise with others to ensure the smooth running of shifts, whilst maintaining high service standards, in a fast‑paced environment.

Have experience with mentoring staff, training and development.

Have excellent communication skills, a neat presentation and a strong work ethic.

Have knowledge of relevant liquor and food service requirements, as well as licensing requirements.

Must be reliable, honest, trustworthy, organised and have good time management skills.

Have flexibility to work a rotating roster across 7 days a week (including public holidays), which will include both opening and closing of the venue.

Hold a valid Western Australian Approved managers card, Australian drivers' licence, RSA certificate and food handling certificate.

Must be an Australian permanent resident or have permanent residency status.

Have or be willing to obtain a valid police clearance.

Have or be willing to obtain TAB compliance certification within the first month of employment.

First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one.
