A Day in the Life

Responsibilities

As a Support Worker at Westhaven, your day is diverse. You will provide essential care to both adults and children, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of every individual. Your responsibilities include:

• Personalised Care: Assisting clients of all ages with personal care, daily living skills, and emotional support.
• Community Engagement: Planning and attending appointments, school activities, or social outings to foster skill development and inclusion.
• Mentorship: Providing a safe, nurturing environment for children while empowering adults to maintain independence.
• Administration:Completing daily case notes, incident reports, and essential administrative tasks.

What You’ll Need

• A Positive Mindset: You are reliable, empathetic, and passionate about social justice.
• Flexibility: Availability to work set shifts across a 24/7 roster (mornings, evenings, and sleepovers) is highly regarded, particularly for our residential and mixed-mode roles.
• Resilience: Experience supporting complex needs, mental health, or behaviours of concern is beneficial.
• Compliance: A current NSW Driver’s Licence, First Aid/CPR, WWCC, and NDISWC. You must also be willing to be listed on the Residential Care Workers Register (RCWR).
