Job summary

Ventia is seeking an experienced Driver to join our Transport Services team on a full-time, permanent basis in a Defence environment. You will safely transport Defence personnel, perform basic vehicle maintenance, and support fleet readiness across multiple bases.

Applicants should have a valid Australian driver's license (LR/MR/HR/HC) and proven route-planning skills. The role requires safety focus, teamwork, and the ability to complete transport paperwork accurately.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of driving experience required.
• Australian driving license LR/MR/HR/HC required.
• Experience operating a range of vehicles is preferred.
• Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
• Strong route planning and navigation skills, including GPS use.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and reporting hazards promptly.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport Defence personnel to and from bases.

• Handle mail duties including sorting, distribution and delivery between bases.

About the Role

Ventia is seeking an experienced Driver to join our Transport Services team on a Full time, permeant basis. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital support function in a dynamic Defence environment

Key Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Safely drive Defence personnel to and from
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including cleaning, inspections, basic fault finding, minor repairs, and tyre/wheel changes
• Conduct non-technical inspections on fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness
• Carry out mail duties including sorting, distribution, and delivery between bases
• Complete basic paperwork and filing tasks related to transport operations

About You

• 1+ years’ experience as a Driver
• A valid Australian driver's license - must be LR, MR, HR or HC
• Experience in operating a range of vehicles, preferably in a similar environment
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles
• Skilled in route planning and navigation, including the use of GPS and maps
• You work safely, follow procedures, look out for your team, and report incidents or hazards without delay

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check.
