Job summary

Ventia in Australia is seeking a Fitter / Fitter Armourer to inspect, repair and recondition military hardware in support of Defence activities. You will work hands-on with highly detailed workmanship to ensure equipment is functional and training objectives are met.

The role involves maintenance, servicing and repairs, safe operation of machinery, and travel to Defence bases across the state. You will join a team with strong safety culture and opportunities for upskilling and career growth.

Qualifications

• Recognised Fitter and Turner trade or Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical or equivalent.
• Experience with small engines and hydraulic equipment (rock breakers, power packs).
• Strong aptitude for technology and computer-based systems.
• MR or HR License is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify parts.
• Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose.
• Ability to travel for training and upskilling; support Defence bases as required.

Job description

As a partner to the Australian Defence Force, Ventia works with a wide range of advanced and specialised equipment across defence environments.

About The Role

As a Fitter /Fitter Armourer, you will use your highly detailed workmanship to inspect, repair, and recondition military hardware. It will be your responsibility to provide direct embedded support and teamwork with Defence and Defence training activities to ensure hardware is functional and training objectives are achieved.

• Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance
• Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify required parts
• Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose
• Ability to travel as required for training and upskilling
• Provide occasional support to various Defence Bases across the state assisting with maintenance. All travel, accommodation and Food paid for!

About You

• Possess a recognised Fitter and Turner Trade or Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical or equivalent
• Experience with small engines and hydraulic equipment (rock breakers, power packs, etc.)
• Strong aptitude for technology and computer-based systems
• MR or HR License - Desirable
• Physically fit and enjoy hands-on work
• Must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
