Overview

Join to apply for the Vehicle Mechanic - Defence role at Ventia. Ventia is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to join the Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Puckapunyal, north of Melbourne.

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and armoured tanks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification
• Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials
• Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts
• Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs
• Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection
• Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates

Qualifications

• Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level
• Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experience
• Demonstrated experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles
• Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's Licence
• You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance

• Work 38 hours per week Monday to Friday and finish at 12 pm on Fridays
