Job summary

Bravus Mining and Resources is seeking an experienced leader to head drill and blast operations at the Carmichael Mine. You will drive production, safety and cost controls, while coordinating with mining operations and contractor teams on plans and schedules.

The role emphasizes safety leadership, budget stewardship and continuous improvement within a large-scale surface mining context, with a FIFO/8x6 roster and on-site operations in Central Queensland.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading drill & blast in open-cut mining operations.
• Strong knowledge of drilling, explosives and blasting controls.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and engage stakeholders.
• Experience managing budgets and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead all drill and blast activities to safely deliver production and mine plan objectives.
• Provide safety leadership and ensure compliance with site standards and risk controls.
• Manage drilling and explosives contractors to meet operational and commercial targets.
• Drive blast quality, reliability and continuous improvement across the value chain.
• Develop and manage drill and blast budgets and contractor accountability.
• Coach and develop team members to build capability and performance.
• Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve productivity and utilization.
