Job summary

Bravus Mining and Resources is seeking a senior leader to head drill and blast at Carmichael Mine. The role drives safe, on-schedule drill and blast delivery aligned with the mine plan, while leading a high-performing team and engaging contractors for safety, cost control and continuous improvement.

You will ensure blasting quality, operational reliability and adherence to site standards, while building capability through coaching and development.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading drill and blast in open-cut mining operations.
• Strong understanding of drilling, explosives and blasting processes, risks and controls.
• Proven ability to manage contractors to meet safety, production and commercial targets.
• Experience leading teams with coaching, mentoring and performance development.

Responsibilities

• Lead all drill and blast activities to safely deliver production and mine plan objectives.
• Provide visible safety leadership and ensure compliance with site standards and risk controls.
• Manage drilling and explosives contractors to achieve operational, safety and commercial outcomes.
• Drive blast quality, reliability and continuous improvement across the mining value chain.
• Develop and manage drill and blast budgets, cost performance and contractor accountability.
• Build capability within the team through coaching and leadership development.
• Monitor and report on KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and utilization.
