Job summary

Multigate Medical Products Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to lead outsourced warehousing, inventory control and national transport operations from our Yennora location. You will manage 3PL contracts, carrier relationships and ensure service levels align with business growth.

The role requires strong operational governance, cost-effective distribution, and regular performance reviews.

Job description

Multigate Medical Products is one of Australia and New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of procedure packs and medical consumables for the public and private hospital markets. We are a proud family-owned business founded in 1986 that has grown significantly from humble beginnings.

As a result of our growth, we are seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to join our team based in our new state of the art location in Yennora. You will be responsible for the safe, compliant, cost-effective and reliable delivery of Multigate products through a national network of third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses and transportation providers.

About the Role

Own operational performance across outsourced warehousing, inventory control, order fulfilment, domestic transport and carrier management, ensuring service levels support customer expectations and business growth

Own day to day operational governance of all contracted 3PL warehouse providers including inbound receiving, put-away, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch, returns and value-added services.

Ensure 3PL operations meet agreed service levels, quality standards, safety requirements, inventory controls and contractual obligations.

Lead regular operational reviews, site visits, capacity planning and peak readiness activities across the warehouse network.

Manage national parcel, pallet, courier, road freight and specialist transportation providers to deliver reliable, compliant and cost-effective customer service.

Operate carrier allocation, service selection, delivery performance, claims, proof of delivery, damages, loss and transport-related customer escalations.

Establish and manage a performance framework covering on time dispatch, delivery in full, order and inventory accuracy, damage and claims, productivity, cost and customer-impacting incidents.

Produce accurate operational reporting, performance trends and forecasting to highlight risks, develop recovery plans and make informed decisions

Partner with Multigate’s Planning and Quality teams to maintain inventory integrity, batch and expiry control, stock status, traceability, cycle counting and investigation of variances.

Own operational relationships with 3PL and transport vendors and engage with other departments to resolve issues and deliver priorities as required

Qualifications & Experience

Demonstratable experience in a Distribution Manager role, managing outsourced warehousing and national transportation operations in a B2B distribution environment

Experience managing 3PL and carrier contracts, service levels, rate structures, invoice validation and vendor performance.

Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, order fulfilment, transport operations and distribution cost drivers.

Exposure to medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, FMCG or another regulated distribution environment preferred.

Proven capability in operational problem solving, continuous improvement, change implementation and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Experience with ERP, WMS, TMS, EDI and business intelligence tools; working knowledge of Microsoft D365 and Power BI highly regarded.

Formal qualifications in supply chain, logistics or continuous improvement desirable.
