Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking Support Workers for its SIL program in NSW. You will assist people with disability in shared housing or home settings, including personal care and daily living tasks. The role operates on a 24/7 roster with essential sleepover shifts.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in mental health support, knowledge of positive behaviour support, and a current First Aid certificate (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011). A NSW driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Strong background in mental health support
• Ability to implement positive behaviour support strategies
• An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
• A current First Aid Certificate, which includes HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

About the Role

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.

• Support clients with mental health challenges, behaviours of concern, and complex needs
• Assist with personal care including bathing support, toileting and dressing
• Advocate for client choice, expression, and active daily engagement
• Think outside the box and adapt to the preferences of each individual
• Availability for sleepover shifts is essential

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
