Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking skilled Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Sydney South. You will provide person-centred support, assist with daily living, and help clients achieve independence in a shared housing setting.

Successful candidates will work across a varied schedule, including short shifts and Sleepover shifts, and must be prepared to handle high medical needs and behaviors of concern with professionalism and empathy.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disability.
• Previous experience working behaviours of concern.
• Prior experience working with high medical needs.
• Confidence in driving a wheelchair van.
• Manual Handling and Hoisting experience.
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

About the Role

We are seeking skilled and experienced Disability Support Workers, to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team. You will support people with disability living in shared housing, providing various supports including personal care and daily living.

The people you will be supporting require a range of support and so, successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include behaviours of concern, high medical needs, high intensity daily personal activities and heavy hoisting and manual handling.

The successful candidate must be able to commit a variety of casual shifts in South East Sydney region (Gymea, Miranda, Arncliffe, Carlton) including short shifts and sleepover shifts across a 7 day roster.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
