Life Without Barriers is seeking skilled Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in the Sydney area. You will support people with disability living in shared housing, including personal care and daily living tasks.

Casual shifts across South East Sydney (Gymea, Miranda, Arncliffe, Carlton) including short and sleepover shifts on a 7-day roster require flexibility and compassion for diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disability.
• Experience working with behaviours of concern.
• Experience working with high medical needs.
• Confidence in driving a wheelchair van.
• Manual handling and hoisting experience.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.

Responsabilités

• Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans.
• Provide assistance with High Intensity daily personal activities.
• Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities.
• Maintain thorough record keeping.
• Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues.

About the Role

We are seeking skilled and experienced Disability Support Workers, to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team. You will support people with disability living in shared housing, providing various supports including personal care and daily living.

The people you will be supporting require a range of support and so, successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include behaviours of concern, high medical needs, high intensity daily personal activities and heavy hoisting and manual handling.

The successful candidate must be able to commit a variety of casual shifts in South East Sydney region (Gymea, Miranda, Arncliffe, Carlton) including short shifts and sleepover shifts across a 7 day roster.

Skills & Experience

• Experience working with people with disability
• Previous experience working behaviours of concern
• Prior experience working with high medical needs
• Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
• Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
