Manaaki Care in Newcastle, NSW, is seeking compassionate Disability Support Workers to assist participants in SIL homes and Community Access, ensuring safety and independence.

You will follow support plans, work as part of a team and independently, with a rotating 24/7 roster and at least one sleepover per week. The role requires 2 years SIL experience and checks (NDIS WWCC) plus First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in SIL or relevant disability support.
• Experience supporting people with complex needs, psychosocial disability, mental health, trauma and/or complex behaviours.
• A genuine commitment to person-centred support.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A calm, resilient and practical approach.
• Good judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Professional boundaries and respect for participant dignity.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Working With Children Check, where applicable.
• Current First Aid & CPR.

You'll support participants in SIL homes as well as providing Community Access and other supports where required. Our SIL homes are busy environments, and we're looking for competent and confident candidates who can stay calm, think on their feet, communicate effectively, work as part of a team, and work independently to ensure participants are supported in a safe, stable environment.
