Job summary

Healthscope Independence Services (HIS) in Penrith is seeking a Female Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality care for clients in SDA apartments under the NDIS. This casual role offers flexible hours and a Level 2 pay point based on experience and qualifications.

You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, and community engagement, working as part of a compassionate team across our supported living network.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or related qualification.
• Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to shift patterns and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily living assistance according to individual support plans.
• Support clients with meals, household tasks, and community activities.
• Record daily notes, progress updates and maintain documentation.
• Accompany clients in community activities and appointments.
• Ensure documentation is thorough and up to date (notes, progress reports).
• Adhere to policies including medication administration, WHS, privacy and confidentiality.
• Work effectively within a team.

About theRole

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and assistance to our clients, helping them achieve their goals and live independently. You will work closely with our clients, supporting them with daily living activities, personal care, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care support in line with individual support plans
• Assist participants with daily living activities in meal preparation and feeding
• Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, etc
• Accompanying and supporting clients in community-based activities, such as social outings, appointments, and recreational pursuits
• Ensure all required documentation (including daily notes, communication and progress reports) is thorough and up to date
• Experience with behaviours of concern
• Adhere to all organisational policies, including medication administration, WHS, client rights, privacy, and confidentiality
• Work within a team environment.

Requirements

• Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or related qualification
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in disability or healthcare services is required
• Strong communication, written, interpersonal, and organisational skills
• Flexibility to work across a range of shift types.
