Job summary

Care1 is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality care to recipients in Macquarie Park and surrounds. We hire for attitude and offer fully funded on-the-job training, welcoming applicants new to the industry.

We provide 24/7 shift options (afternoon, night, and mornings when available), weekly pay, and a supportive team focused on meaningful, compassionate care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide comfort and assistance with activities of daily living as per individual care plans.
• Support clients with complex or challenging needs including bowel care and mobility.
• Assist with PEG feeding, medication administration and personal care tasks.
• Perform light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry and meal prep.
• Transport clients to appointments and social activities as required.
• Ensure client well-being and report progress to the team.
• Maintain safety, dignity and respect in all interactions.

The specifics:

24/7 shifts available: afternoon 3pm-11pm and active night 11pm-7am shifts available throughout the week, with a possibility of morning shifts too when available.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for providing comfort to our clients by assisting with the requirements and activities of daily living as set out in their individual care plans. This may include:

Supporting clients with complex and/or challenging needs

Bowel Care Support

PEG Feeding & Medication Administration

Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance

Domestic assistance: light housework (cleaning, laundry and meal preparation)

Supporting clients who use personal equipment/aid, this may include walking or standing frames, wheelchairs, hoists

Monitoring the well-being of clients and reporting on their progress

Social Activities: transporting clients to their appointments, shopping, any planned social activity.

Mental Health Experience

Right to Work in Australia such as passport, visa, birth certificate

Current valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain before employment

NDISWC

Working with Children Check

Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disabilities or similar is desirable (willingness and the ability to obtain is essential)

Experience working with clients who display challenging and complex behaviours

Experience providing complex personal care

Previous healthcare or community welfare experience is along with a genuine desire to support people to live a higher quality of life will be highly regarded.
