Job summary

Cootharinga North Queensland is seeking experienced Support Workers for casual shifts, including sleepovers and weekends, to help clients live the life they want. You’ll work with a small team, receive extensive in-house and online training, and enjoy competitive casual pay rates.

Casual roles may lead to part-time opportunities. You’ll need a current NDIS Worker Screening or Yellow Card, a Working with Children Blue Card or be willing to obtain one, an open driver’s license with a vehicle, and

Qualifications

• Experience in support work is essential for this role.
• Open to sharing shifts including sleepovers and weekends.
• Onboarding requires safety and compliance clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide Personal Care and assist with daily living tasks.
• Perform Manual Handling and maintain safe practices.
• Offer Social Support and transport assistance.
• Prepare meals and assist with domestic tasks in clients' homes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.

About The Role

You can expect to undertake various duties including but not limited to, Personal Care (full training and buddy shifts provided), Manual Handling, Social Support, Transport, Meal Preparation, Domestic Assistance in home and Record Keeping. This is an essential aspect of the role.

Applicants need to be aware that these positions will involve shifts work especially sleepovers and weekend work - with attractive penalty rates included!

Casual positions may lead to Part Time depending on availability and ongoing reliability.

We have intake in 2026 starting 13th of January!

As Part Of The Onboarding Process, You Will Need

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or Yellow Card and a Working with Children Blue Card or be willing to obtain (Cootharinga will happily assist in obtaining necessary clearances if successful)
• An Open Drivers License and own vehicle
• First Aid Certificate and CPR within the last 12 months or willing to obtain
• NDIS Worker Quality Orientation - Free to obtain (https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/)
